SAWO (The Sudanese American Women’s Organizations) is a voluntary organization founded in June 2002 and officially registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia in October 2002. It is founded by a group of Sudanese women residing in the Washington metropolitant area, for the general advancement of women living in the United States. Its membership is open to all Sudanese women above the age of 18 years, regardless of ethnicity, religion, and/or political affiliation.

The Sudanese American Women’s Organization (SAWO)
is a Voluntary Organization

Founded by a group of Sudanese women residing in the Washington metropolitant area for the general advancement of women living in the United States. Its membership is open to all Sudanese women above the age of 18 years, regardless of ethnicity, religion and/or political affiliation. It aims at facilitating the integration of Sudanese women and their families into the broader American society, by providing information in the fields of employment, education, health, immigration and child care, through the organization of workshops, seminars, social activities, and the setting up of outreach programs.

Make A Donation

Money donations will go towards supporting Sudanese women in the United States as well women in Sudan. Donations will help women in need with things such as health care, food security, shelter, and education.
